Pride in Victoria

When it comes to a city and its people, Victoria is one of the most colourful cities in the world. We embrace the raw nature that surrounds us, and everything that makes us truly unique.

This weekend, I had the opportunity to capture some of Victoria’s most colorful people in action at Victoria’s annual Pride Parade. It was a lovely day with terrific costumes and welcoming energy, as mentioned in this comment left on CJ*F’s Facebook page, “I was always really moved by Victoria Pride. In so many ways it seemed to celebrate diversity even more openly than big city Prides like Toronto’s, New York’s or Vancouver’s. It seemed that Victoria shed any categorization of what it means to be lgbtq2+, and instead embraced a broader concept of “queer”. Anyone from anywhere who identified as anything not conventionally cisgendered was welcome to free expression.”

So…without further ado, here are some of the parade’s proudest moments.
