Royal BC Museum Corporate Event

I had an absolute blast filming and editing this corporate event video for the Royal BC Museum. It was a great opportunity to capture the energy and spirit of one of their latest, most inspiring exhibitions: Beyond the Beat: Music of Resistance and Change.

Running from May 30, 2025, to January 5, 2026, this exhibit, travelling from the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, dives deep into the powerful role music has played in shaping social and political movements throughout history. It’s not just about catchy tunes—it’s about how artists have used their voices and creativity to challenge injustice, inspire hope, and unite communities.

Visitors will find themselves face-to-face with incredible artifacts that tell these stories. From Neil Young’s iconic harmonica to the flamboyant stage outfits of Elton John, as well as pieces from contemporary artists like Tegan & Sara and Public Enemy’s Chuck D, the exhibit highlights a wide range of music legends who stood up for change. Each item on display is a window into moments when music became more than entertainment—it became a catalyst for resistance and progress.

What makes Beyond the Beat especially engaging are its dynamic displays and interactive experiences. Guests can explore the background stories of famous songs that became anthems for movements, learn about the artists behind them, and see how their music inspired collective action and personal empowerment. Whether it’s the civil rights movement, Indigenous rights, LGBTQ+ advocacy, or anti-war protests, this exhibit shows how music has been a universal language of defiance and hope.

For anyone interested in the connection between art and activism, this exhibit offers a powerful reminder of how sound and song can move mountains and change the course of history.
